  25. The facts indicate otherwise. Intel makes a massively parallel processing
  26. machine that consists of _many_ P6 cpu's. If I recall correctly the
  27. design acomodates up to 1024 separate processors. It is not likely
  28. in the near future that this type of machine would be offered at
  29. home PC price points. (Maybe next year (:-)

  34. : software (OS) that has to deal with multiple CPUs. It is probably the MOST
  35. : difficult software "problem" that one could ever find - writing an OS to use
  36. : multiple CPUs. I have seen this work well with the latest SUN Solaris OS (8
  37. : CPUs on a SPARC 1000). SUN went through some growing pains to bring Solaris up
  38. : to speed though.
